Torque converters and top speed

I have a 4 questions about tq converters:

1) By adding a tq converter, does it limit your car's capable top speed?

2) When you are driving on a highway, with a tq converter installed, and you take your foot off the accelerator do you feel a sudden jerk causing your body to move forward?

3) How does a tq converter affect gas consumption with normal day to day driving?

4) Are they worth the money?

You car now has a torque converter(approx 1800rpm stall), so your question will depend entirely on what stall you increase too.

Here's what I know about them. Let's base it on a 2800 stall converter which seems to be the most popular on N/A v6 fbodies [img]smile.gif[/img]

3. Probably because you'll be launching harder, but gas consumption is more about how you drive than what you drive IMO.
4. From everything I"ve heard, YES! They wake up the auto's big time in particular. I will be all over one when I get my gears.

So where can I find the best buy on a tq converter?

I live in Canada so I'm not sure how much help I can be, but the Vigilante from Thunderracing.com is a good converter. Not sure if it's agreat price or not.

Go to your local performance shop and see if they can order one for your car.
