ok my car has like an unsteady rpm around 45-50mph where the rpm's bounce up and down like 100-200. someone said it can be the torque converter (stock) locking ? can i add any additives or do i need a rebuild ? 97 camaro 3.8l auto btw

The stock converter is supposed to lock. However if it is locking/unlocking randomly when there is little change in speed or throttle position, then there is an issue.
