Ok I got my 3.73 gears done today. Trying to program whit the hypertech tuner there is no 3.73 option I am pretty upset about it :(
What can I do?
Is there someone in the Austin area and the surrounding areas able to help me whit this tuning issue?
I really need your help guys
Thanks
headers, high flow cat, slp loudmouth
powerdyne supercharger 6psi
GT2 cam. all done by myself
Hell yea
I've heard that TSP or someone else who does tuning can do simple gear reprogramming for much cheaper than a full tune. I wanna say I've heard like $85 since it's really quick for them to reprogram for gears. That would be truly reprogrammed rather than having a module trick the pcm into thinking otherwise. Give TSP or one of the sponsors with tuning a call and ask. Can't hurt if anything.

since we are talking about gears. i hava a a4 live in los angeles. Mods consist of headers, cat back, whisper lid, ram air, and nitrous. Whats is best for me? Considering i am a daily driver. If I get the gears what else to I need. I see at thunderracing.com and texas-speed.com about the girdle. can some one explain thanks. i did the search its funny how the war is started but it did not answer my questions.
if you have an A4, 3.42's are good all-round gears. thats what I upgraded to, but I kind of wish that I had went to 3.73's now that there are tuning options to correct for them. The only way I would not recommend 3.73 gears in an A4 now based on my own experience is if you are going to run a turbo, then 3.42's.
You will more than likely want to hunt down a posi unit to install at the same time. You will just be spinning that one tire even more and not get the full benefit of the gears if you dont. In which case, find a 3 series differential and matching 3 series gears. You will also need an SLP reluctor ring to keep your ABS operational. Lastly you will want an install kit (if you have a bunch of miles on the rear end, get a full rebuild kit as you will sooner or later need to change the bearings anyway.... might as well do it all at once). You do not need a new girdle. They just help to strengthen things up and allow for more oil capacity to keep things cool.
