LSD w/o changing gears

Could I install LSD's without changing my stock gears, or if I'm going to go with Lsd's do you guys recommend changing the gears also.

I have a 94 Pontiac Firebird, I'm not sure what the stock gears are.

you prolly have 3.23's or 3.08's its up to you..gear changes make radical differences in acceleration.

the ring will fit right onto the LSD easy as that

You can get a 2 series LSD or a 3 series LSD. No need to change gears.

You can get a Zexel-Torsen LSD from SLP for about $99, plus shipping. It fits series 3 carriers. You should have 3.23 gears in your car (check the glovebox RPO codes, you should have the GU5 code). 3.23's & up use the series 3 carrier, so you will not have to switch carriers. If you decide to do a gear swap, all you should need is the gears themselves. Keep in mind if you want your speedo to remain accurate, you'll have to find a way to recalibrate it.
