  • Tranny Mount and how much I should expect to pay.

K, Im thinking another small upgrade I should do is a transmission mount, well I mean I new one. How much should I expect to pay for these things and whats the best kind. Also what stores carry the good stuff? Autozone, Pep Boys, O'reiley's...

And last but not least, where can I see an install guide for this project and how hard is this install?

    TIA guys.

For the tranny mount, 2 main ones to get...

A polyurethatne one or a 1LE. the Poly one is stiffer and strogner but some have noticed and not liked added vibrations in the car. 1LE is a harder durometer rubber, much stiffer then stock but less harsher then poly.

1LE is a direct bolt in, but purchased through a dealership. But it does lower the transmission a little, you need to put a small metal spacer in there to raice the transmission.

Poly, alot of the car stores carry them or you can get one online from the main automotive places. You need to modify the tranny crossmember a little, its easy if you have a dremel, just need to extend a hole ~1/2 so you can bolt it up.

I have had both I enjoyed 1LE ones, the poly one is a little stiffer, and I did have to modify my crossmember, but I did notice a BIG vibration at first, but took it ot the track the next day and it worked fine. And I can hopefully count on a poly one to break, I broke my 1LE one.

I run the poly tranny mount in my bird....

I did the torque arm mount also at the same time....

When I first started the car up.... I thought the vibrations were UNGODLY!!!

I was leacing that day for Vermont... well... after a 450-500 mile round trip.... the vibration was MUCH less... and I'm happy.
