okkkk what did i do here

alrigt i got te new clutch in, i torqued it down in a star patern. i tightened everything down to tqe specifics and everything went together smooth with no problems.


alright now. my problem is this. if the chicken is off then i can shift through the gears. when i push the clutch in i notice it goes in alot easier. but when i start the car it wont go into any of the gears.

ive bleed the clutch hydrolic line 4 times and still no working.

any ideas fellas?

May be a dumb question, but did you refill the trans fluid? Not the clutch fluid, but the red Dextron III fluid... And, is it up to level?
If so, pull it out again and check the shifting with the trans out. If it shifts okay, then re-align the trans shaft into the pressure plate with the tool and give it another shot. I'm guessing that the shaft may have gotten jammed somewhere along your installation.

If you find the problem, please post it! I would like to hear what was causing it to not shift.

if the clutch disk is backwards it will cause this

i filled the tranny fluid up to the top of the fill plug with dexron 3 fluid.

u would know if the tranny didnt go in right because the shaft pretty much has a set way to go into the tranny.

putting the disk backwards or over tightening the bolts that go to the pressure plate are the only two things that i can think of that could cause the problem.

my car has been sitting in the auto hobby shop here on base for the past 3 weeks. its hard though with my damn trainning schedule, getting ready to deploy, and having a fiance takes up all of my time. plus they are closed tues and wednes.

you get a "squirt" of fliud or does it just drip what your try and bleed it?

if it just drips out and you can't get pedal PSI

you have to buy a bleeder that connect to it and bleeds the system, if you did any thign wit hthe master you need to do this... it pull the fluid into the line then you bleed like normal and it should work after that

i took the what ever cylinder that goes to the clutch assebly off and removed the resevor cap and diaphram and pushed it in about 1/4-1/2 in bursts for about 20 mins till all the bubbles went through the resevoir. you can see the throwout bearing assembly move. so i assume its something beyond that.

well its not the disk. i pulled it all apart and realized there was nothing wrong. so i figured i might have just over torqued the bolts for the pressure plate. i havent been able to finish putting it all together but i pray that was it. if not i have nooooooo clue what the problem could be
