  • 1le drive shaft install..................

    hey guys Tommorrow Im installing a 1le drive shaft in my 2000 firebird. Are there tips (any of u guys can give)or things I should be awhere of?
    Is it an easy install?

    Mike, from what I hear, it isn't too bad, but beware, the stock two-piece is heavy ;) . Actually Bob (OnixV6) and I were just talking about installing driveshafts. E-mail him, I'm sure he'll have some good tips for you (if you still have his e-mail).

      Really easy job.

      2Ks have only 1 pc steel DS.
      When removing this steel DS make sure you're not under it. I was and the damn thing landed on my forehead and BAM! :eek: Sucker hurts! 20lbs DS landing on your head ummm not good.

          get WD40. the hardest part is unbolting the 2-piece DS especially the upper bolt on the clamp that connects it to the torque arm. have some curse words ready. after that, everything should be smooth sailing. you might not have that much problem unbolting since you have a newer car and, hopefully, the bolts aren't rusted tight. 45-minute to 2-hour job depending on how tight the bolts are and the amount of space to work on under the car. have fun!
