Ok here my idea to swap out my 2pc driveshaft for a one piece aluminum one:
Instead of fighting with the top bolt on the center backet that holds the 2pc in place, could you just unbolt the drive shaft and torque arm from the rear axle, slide it all forward a couple of inches and swing it down and out?? That seems easy in theory but do you guys think it would make things easier??

its not that hard to get the top bolt...jack the car up high and stick your arm in from the back forward and get it loose....and its a lot easier than pulling the damn torque arm down...my opinion anyways...

Actually I don't think you can do that. When I changed my clutch out a month ago I could not get the torque arm fully off because I could not get the second bolt (the 2 long ones closest to the rear) out in order to remove the torgue arm from the car. I ended up leaving it and pushing it to the side while I removed everything else to get to the clutch. If you can get the bolts out then yes I don't think you'll have a problem, However, I could not get mine off.
It's really not to difficult to get the top bolt out.

It also helps to put the jack stands on the frame and let the rear end hang down. That will give you more room to get to the top of the torque arm. The torque arm is more difficult to remove (especially if you have a stock bushing) than that bolt.

I do agree... torque arm is a *****... to replace... One thing that put me in the search for a new car was my torque amr breaking, then months later the thing that connects the torque arm bushing to the tranny breaking...
All work that sucked and sucked even more with a poly bushing.

this makes it MUCH easier. just lower it as far as it can hang. with it all the way down i found it easiest to get to the bolt from the back of it on the passanger side of the driveshaft. it took about 3 minutes to get it out from there with a boxend
playing with the torque arm would definitely be overkill
About a week ago noticed my brake lights not working also Hazards not working. Installed new brake switch and still not working, checked fuses and what...
