That's correct..they are for autos. Hence the 4L60E. It's advertising that you have control of shifting gears with your automatic transmission. That's what shift kits do.

That is a bad advertisement....some shift kits make your tranny fully manual....so you have to shift into the different gears....the one above means that you can put your tranny in 1st and it won't automatically shift to 2nd if your RPMs are too high...you just blow your engine or tranny.

Torque management is there to protect your drivetrain from a big shock everytime your car shifts. It reduces power during the shift so when the car goes into the next gear it is not a sudden shock to the drivetrain.

I don't think the benefits of a shift kit will be negated by torque management. However, its benefits may be reduced.

You can get torque managament reduced or eliminated with custom programming. The soon to be released HP Tuners product is supposed to be able to do it. Also, Westers custom programming will also reduce it. Westers will take it totally out for you but their website doesn't recommend it. They say they "remove all torque management that can be safely removed".
SLP CAI, K&N, Whisper Lid, 180* thermo, manual fan switch, 3.42 gears, Auburn Pro LSD, Wester\'s PCM Tuning, TSP Rumbler, High Flow Cat. Best Time: 9.909@71.58 (1/8 mile)
