I just got my 3.42 gears and posi unit installed friday. It only cost me 400 because my mechanic had some extra ones out of a SS just laying around taking up room. yes that is 400 installed and everything! all i gotta say is WOW, these things are great, takes off extremely better than it used to, and as far as gas mileage goes, all weekend i have been getting 28 miles to the gallon, and that is taking into account the speedo off by10% and odometer slightly off.

what brand lsd?
SS's didnt have the Zexel torsen did they?

It would either be a Zexel or an Auburn out of an SS. I got my Eaton LSD installed for $150 but paid $200 for the diff with only 6K miles on it.. I already had 3.42 gears2000 Firebird. Whisper Lid, True duals, TSP mail order tune, Built Tranny , TCI 2800 stall verter, B&M tranny cooler, Eaton LSD, 3.42 gears. Current best ET. 15.232 89.09 MPH 2.175 60ft on stock 3.42\'s and open diff.<a href=\"http://www.geocities.cComment
