  • What kind of mph has been gained going from 1 piece steel to 1 piece aluminum?

    Anyone have any differences...

I think people were averaging 1.5 mph going 2-piece to 1 piece aluminum, but the 2-piece was pretty heavy...

BTW anyone with a 2 piece, get an lt1 driveshaft, much better.

How are vibrations though with a one piece? I heard one pieces vibrate pretty bad at high speeds

prolly vibrates because some people prolly dont bother getting it balanced when they buy it used.

          I never balanced mine...

I heard there was a problem with lots of lt1 driveshafts having vibration problems. And a big scam of lt1 guys waiting till the end of their warranty to get it replaced because GM ran out of steel ones and jsut replaced it with ls1 driveshafts.

I swapped to an aluminum piece from my one piece steel. Little or no vibration that I can feel. At the track it looks like I picked up .5mph maybe a bit more. The weather conditions were different enough to the point that telling the difference in just the driveshaft would be very difficult.

I have a stock one piece, and at high speeds, it is just fine.

ls1 is better then an lt1 driveshaft...

but the average ls1 driveshaft costs $100+ average used lt1 driveshaft is ~$25

both are better then a stock 2-piece on older v6s.
