price is like 210 bucks. advantages are less weight of car, more hp/tq to the wheels, quicker reving, better cruising mileage, lower flash stall speed. less weight of car means less work for the engine to move it, therefore producing quicker 1/4 times, maybe a tenth, depending on how many other mods you have, more hp/tq because the engine has less initial inertia to overcome, therefore allowing more power to the wheels, quicker reving because the engine doesn't have to work as hard to get going, better cruising mpg because if you keep your foot out of it, you won't have to produce as much power to move the car, and lower flash stall speed because it'll take less work for the engine to start the wheels turning.

RKSport sells the 1LE aluminum driveshaft... of course it's $395 from them, kinda expensive if ya ask me. And yes, they're all the same, and will work with either transmission.

The driveshaft that Rksports sells is not the 1LE aluminum driveshaft. It was crafted after the 1LE driveshaft. Here is what Rksports says about the driveshaft (Crafted after the factory option 1 LE driveshafts, this custom 3 in. T6 aluminum driveshaft features Spicer U-joints that strenghten grain structure as well as reduce internal stress at high speeds. These driveshafts are also manufactured with a special internal driveline noise suppression system and balanced to minimize vibration. Accepted by IHRA for competition including Competition Eliminator and Pro Stock.) So the one on RKsports is more of a custom job, that is why it is more expensive than the 1LE driveshaft. Probably should not be $395 though, price is high, but you usually get what you pay for. ;) Not tring to flame anyone, just adding some info to the subject. ;)

Is there supposed to be some kind of wieght floating inside these shafts?
A guy came in to my store to get new u-joints installed in his shaft that he had just received, and it felt like there was something loose inside.

                          What about the RKSport?
Is that the "noise suppression system"?

I don't know about the RK Sport ones... I have the early 1LE one.

I wouldn't think it would have anything solid floating in it though, because once the driveshaft starts spinning, that thing whatever it is, is going to be off to one side, and make it off balance like a washing machine on the spin cycle with too much clothes on one side.

                              No! Not like that!
It felt like it was sliding from one end to the other when you flipped it end for end.
