• Tranny mount wont fit???

I just got my poly tranny mount today from thunderracing.com, tried to install it, but it won't fit. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong, which I don't think, or they sent me the wrong mount. Plus I have a convertible, don't know if that matters or not. Is it possible that they sent me a Z mount, or are they the same? It won't line up with the crossmember after I bolt it to the tranny. I move it and and adjust it, but it's just not lining up. Anyone have any ideas or info? Thanks.

You have to make the longer towards the front of the car.

yeah... drill another hole in the cross-member about 1/2" to the front of the car and then use a good metal file and finish it out.

Also make sure you have it facingt the right way... I have made that mistake on a 1le, one end sticks out a little longer...

poly mount is symmetrical unlike a regular 1LE so it doesn't stick out.. just FYI

Got it on today, just drilled the hole bigger. I take it it's normal for the poly to vibrate a little. Just wanted to say thanks again guys for the help.

But not all. The poly mount I have for my car (85 Firebird) is different than the one that came w/the tranny I got from Nachius. The 4th gen one is oblong, and actually wouldn't work on my cross member w/o drilling it. Link to PIC

right... are we talking about a GM mount or an ES or prothane? my ES looks just the same as that one, only red

the vibrations WILL go away, no matter how much they rattle your teeth and interior apart

do you have to drill another hole for the 1LE mount?
