    im looking for a new driveshaft, what should i look for, aluminum, steel, and how much should i expect top spend when i find one

    Look for a good aluminum one. Lighter than steel, but not nearly as expensive as the CF ones.

      would it be better to wait to get the CF one or just go aluminum

        price to advantage, aluminum is better. CF is obviously better than alum., but for the extra price, it isnt really worth the gains for a street driven car. aluminum one will give you actually about a tenth in the 1/4. for every 10lbs of rotating mass you get rid of, you pick up about a tenth.

          you can always get some sweet deals... i got mine on ebay for $100 shipped. they pop up sometimes on our for sale board but i would just stay vigilant either in the junkyards or on ebay.

          LS1 cars have aluminum driveshafts, and you can get the 1LE version from gmpartsdirect.com. the 1LE version is larger in diameter but about 3x as much as a junkyard or LS1 version.
