In a post a year or more ago someone had said that while rebuilding their rearend they had gotten some heavy duty axle bearings. My bearings are going the way of the buffalo and I was wondering if anyone knew where I could find something along the lines of heavy duty axle bearings as my philosophy is if I have to replace it, make it better. Thanks for any help.
I have already emailed the member who made the original post but it had been so long he had forgotten where he got them from.
Well, those and anything else applicable really. My rear end has seen heck and back, so pretty much everything but the differential and the ring and pinion. Any pointers will be appreciated, part numbers would me great.
Richmond makes a Mega Install Kit that would fit your needs. It includes Axle Seals and Axle Bearings, Cover gasket, ring gear bolts and washers, crush sleeve, marking compound and brush, pinion and carrier bearings, pinion nut and washer, pinion seal, thread locking compound, silicone sealer, and pinion & carrier shims.
Obviously you would not need a few of the items, but most of them would be used.
Let me know if you need more info...drop me a line at my E-mail address.
