can someone please tell me what parts i need to go from an open diffy to closed.
is it just the posi carrier or do i need additional parts

you need the carrier. you'll have to get one of the heavy duty ones because i think all the zexel-torsen units are g-o-n-e. with the old torsens, you got a paddle, a pinion shaft, and the carrier itself. you have to transfer your ABS reluctor. pretty straightfoward stuff.
i searched and didnt find the exact answer i was looking for. I am trying to buy one of ebay or something and i want to know what/where else to get. The item i am looking at only has the carrier so where can i get the rest of the stuff???

I'm pretty sure regular Z28's have 2.73s as stock gears, but you may want to ask the person prior to bidding. Just to make sure it is a 2-series carrier. Without Y87 you most likely have 3.08s which require that 2-series carrier. So just ask the guy if it is a 2-series carrier (3.08 and below). If it is a 3-series carrier than it has 3.23 and above gears.
