I might be doing this later on next year along with the B&M shift kit. My question is will i see a big drp in MPG from a 3000 stall over my stock 2300?

depends on the efficiency of the TC. the stock TC is pretty loose from the factory to prevent drivetrain shock. I talked to andre at Edge Racing, and he said that he would be able to get me a 96.8% efficient and 2.55 str converter with around 3000 rpm stall. if it's got lock-up, then highway mileage won't change much. if it's high efficiency, then city mileage will actually go up, but ur limited to how high of an str u can run. if u have them make it the same efficiency as the stock converter, and max out the str rating, then u won't see much change in gas mileage around town.2001 Arctic White Firebird
More mods than I\'m allowed to list!

OK, thanks for the info. My driving is mostly around town with a couple miles each day on the highway. I got an adverage of around 20 right know.2004 Dodge Dakota 3.7 litres of raw power!!
Nothing but a 6!
Do you know for sure? John 3:18

most ppl make NA cam's loose because of how much stall they need off the line to get moving. forced induction one's are much tighter, and tend to help gas mileage some. the TC specs I put out are a lot like forced induction TC specs. I get between 15-20 in town and 30-35 on highway w/ 3.42's in back on the stock converter w/ the mods listed in my sig. btw, look into edge racing converters. that's the place that gave me those specs. They use carbon fiber in some of the internals of the converter, which reduces rotating weight, which helps get more power to the ground, and allows them to tighten up the converter more than other brands do while having the same str numbers.2001 Arctic White Firebird
More mods than I\'m allowed to list!

What does str and efficiency ratings mean/do? I understand the whole deal about true stall/flash stall/brake stall, but I dont know what the str ratings are yet. I dont want to steal the thread topic, so I'll tie it in. What do those variables do, and how do they affect driveablity and gas mileage during normal driving?AIM: Alientr8tr
1998 Camaro 3.8L
Flowmaster 80-series, !FRA, Eibach Springs, KYB AGX, SLP sway bars, 3.42/LSD, Wings West kit, Z06 Motorsports, Silverstone Metallic paint
Shift 5 - My Band

my gas mileage went to ****. it shoots up to like 3500 all the time before it shifts. so you are up in the band a lot. just drive it conservatlively and you will be fine with a slight drop.\'96 Quasar Blue Firebird A4
jamiethekiller@comcast.net
my band: woodland
