I am planning on putting 3.73's and limited slip in my car. The gears are used so am I still going to have a break in period or am I going to be able to romp all over the gas when I first get it back? :D Is there anyway to recalibrate the speedo? Gear swap has nothing to do with shift points right? I heard that maybe a tranny place could redo my speedo, but I have also heard you can't recalibrate it. My car is a 95 so the HPP3 is NEARLY impossible to find, which if I could find..it would recalibrate and fix all that, right? Well if you could be any help..I would surely appreciate it. Thanks

All I can help you with is the break in period.
Always break in gears when you first get them. My rear came out of a 2001 trans am, w/ 100 miles on it. My mechanic/friend told me not to beat on it, or drive for more then a 1/2 hour at a time, and allow the gears to totally cool down before driving again. This went on for 500 miles.
Say your mechanic did a sh*tty job installing the gears ie. leaking,banging,rubbing...would you want to find it out by slamming the gas, or getting a feel for it and seeing slowly if there may be a problem? I already went through 3.73's b/c of a sh*tty install.
About the recalibration of the speedo..my speedo is still screwed up so i cant help you there!94 3.4L A4 white t-tops
moroso cai
3\"hi-flow pacestter exhaust
b&m shift kit
catco cat
01 T/A rear w/ 3.73\'s and posi
1 pc aluminum ds
blacked out signals

The break in period is logical. You had a good point. How much was your Speedo off by? Would this make the odometer speed up to? I have heard that it does, but I am not sure about this. Anyone with any other info..let me know please!1995 Chevy Camaro
3.4L stock
T-tops
Red w/ black stripes
Flowmaster 80 w/ 3\" chrome tips
www.cardomain.com/id/dense07

Ok, some answers to your questions.
Yes, break them in still.
If you have an auto, your shift points may be off, I'm really not sure. If you have a manual then obviously you shift whenever the hell you want.
Yes it throws your speedo off and it will tack on miles faster (noticably faster) than the 3.23's.
Oh and I have two things for sale that might be of interest for you guys. E-mail me about them.

How does the recalibrator work? Do you plug it in under the steering column?94 3.4L A4 white t-tops
moroso cai
3\"hi-flow pacestter exhaust
b&m shift kit
catco cat
01 T/A rear w/ 3.73\'s and posi
1 pc aluminum ds
blacked out signals

I really dont think it throws off your miles That badly...for example, it takes me 28-30 miles to get to work. If I take my bird, it will take me 32-34 miles instead.. not too bad but it still speeds it up.94 3.4L A4 white t-tops
moroso cai
3\"hi-flow pacestter exhaust
b&m shift kit
catco cat
01 T/A rear w/ 3.73\'s and posi
1 pc aluminum ds
blacked out signals

Fastchips wil reprogram your computer for 3.73 gears, take off your speed limiter, turn the cooling fan on sooner, firm up shift points, and give you another 15hp for $300. You have to send in your pcm though. Hope this helps. :cool:1994 Chevrolet Camaro 3.4L A4 (160hp 200tq)
2006 Nissan 350Z 3.5L M6 (300hp 260tq)

I'll also be doing the 3.73 lsd swap. I just need the install kit. My friends dad is going to do it. He's a Fix Or Repair Daily mechanic  , but is a chevy guy at heart. Good luck with the installs! 1994 Chevrolet Camaro 3.4L A4 (160hp 200tq)
2006 Nissan 350Z 3.5L M6 (300hp 260tq)

Ah...I wish I had the money for the HPP3! I could sure use that! What would my rpms be running at going bout 65? they are about 2000 right now..in overdrive. I get about 21-23 miles per gallon highway...how much would this change? About what gas mileage would I prolly get?1995 Chevy Camaro
3.4L stock
T-tops
Red w/ black stripes
Flowmaster 80 w/ 3\" chrome tips
www.cardomain.com/id/dense07

The recalibrator gets spliced into wires under the passenger side dash by the PCM.
And Dense, you only get 21-23mpg highway? Something's wrong... big time. You should be getting almost 10mpg more than that! Last year we took my car down to FL for spring break and got like 31-32 MPG.---
-\'95 3.4L M5 Camaro
