rear axle making noise??????

Ok my rear axle has been making a noise almost as loud as my exhaust and I have flows 80 series. This noise has been around for a while now. I've taken it to get it checked and was told that one of my gears teeth chiped and thats whats making the noise. So they put heavier oil and a new pinon seal,I paid 60 bux for that and still the same noise is their but I,m thinking of moding my gears would this get rid of the noise or could it be somthing else.
I treat my car with respect now, not like before that whatever your truck can do my car can do to.
should have gotten a truck, but know now what I have and dont do those things anymore.. what was I thinking, but Its true with age comes responsibility :rolleyes:

If it is truly a chipped gear tooth then the only way to fix it is to replace it.

I had a roaring type noise coming from the rear & it ended up being bad bearings. Warranty covered mine.
