no the 3.8 clutch is biger then the 3.4 they also use different fly wheels

Does anyone know if a flywheel from a 91 s10 will work on a 95 (3.4) camaro motor? For some reason, I think the crank-to-flywheel bolt holes are different but every picture I have seen they look similar.
Found the answers... PCM can be reprogrammed at the Chevy dealership for $90. The programming uses the VIN of the car so I simply need to find a 5sp car that I can borrow the VIN from to have them reprogram it.

And yes the flywheel from a 2.8 (neutral balanced) is the same bolt pattern and diameter but it is actually thinner than the flywheel for the 3.4.

ok two questions now... first one is the one from above about whether the transmission and stff from the 94 will work since i have a 97 and also will the engine still run with out the PCM reprogrammed if i cant get down to the pontiac dealership for a while?

                I'd be weary of the tranny from a 3.4L 93-95 v6s.

The transmission might be the same but I think the biggest issue will be the input shaft. that is the part that will be different if it is. And imo, its just easier to get the right tranny instead of dealing with the input shaft...

I unless oyu find out for sure I woudl just wait around and get one from a 96-02 to be sure. I mean I found one in like 4-5 days. When I looked.

Just check all the junkyards, especially J&B down 50, they didn't hve one local but they had one in georgia. They are linked to a big network and freight ship stuff for free to the orlando location. Just figure out what their core situation is.

I may be mistaken, but I believe there is a 'clutch anticipate switch' wiring that will need to go the computer... The auto wiring harnass has the electronic shift control input going to the computer. I didn't see that mantioned in any of the above posts.

I also found a guy locally that has done this swap and he said that if the computer is unpluged for >5 minutes, it will reset and the reprogramming is not needed - the computer will 'learn' it is now a manual if it 'sees' the correct inputs.

i did the swap on a 96 camaro . i will have to be reprogramed it wont relearn . it will throw all kinds of trans falt codes . you can drive this way but the idle will be a little funky .You dont need the clutch anticipate switch inless you have crusie control . i just taped up the old trans connection and tucked it out of the way . hope this helps

Yes you do need it if you want the crusie to work properly . otherwise leave it out and just step on the brake before you depress the cluch to turn off c/c .otherwise it will hold the engine rpm after you push the clutch in .

no , it only affects the c/c curcuit . and it just tells the computer to turn off the crusie .you really dont need it . i didnt use it .

so it just make the cruise control inoperable? ive never seen a manual car that could use cruise control...
