Yah , it is used to turn the crusie off when you have it set .thats it only job .you colud still use it but just disingague it as you would an automatic car .

What is needed to tell the car that the clutch is depressed and it can start? There has to a switch (plunger) on the clutch pedal that is connected to the computer... correct?

I'm planning on doing this in the next couple of months, as $$$ and parts allow. Does anyone have a good guide on doing this swap? I've seen the parts list earlier in the post, but are the hook-ups there for the T-5 sensors and all of that? Mostly for the Cruise Control and Clutch Start sensors... I don't know if anything needs to be hooked up to the trany itself.

A buddy of mine is going to help me wrench on it and do the conversion. I will have HP Tuners by the time I do this, so I can do the PCM flash myself.

so it just make the cruise control inoperable? ive never seen a manual car that could use cruise control...

My manual has cruise. From the factory I think there's no difference in availability of cruise, auto or manual.

Sorry... don't have a guide... but in addition to the parts listed earlier, I do not believe the autos came with the wiring necessary to plug into the manual so I believe you will need the clutch anticipate switch (if you want cruise control), the clutch safety switch (thank you shenanigans), and a manual PCM or your reprogrammed.

That kinda sucks... I know I'll need the sensors, but my question is more are the hookups there on the wiring harness... I know I have the plug in for the CD changer, but never had one. I'm more curious about having to run wires, splicing the harness, etc.

BTW, for those who have done this, does anyone have a complete parts list to do the conversion?

Just posting to subscribe... I may start gathering these parts as I can as well so I can get the swap done sometime in the future... man is it fun driving a manual... plus it'd be very helpful for me to have a 5th gear so i can get lower gears and still get good mileage on the freeway which i drive alot.
