This mechanic told me that it might not. He mentioned something about something, I forgot, and once installed and you run it, the DS might vibrate and might get uncomfortable.
Has this been true to those of you who have bought them used?
I may just wait for a couple more months and buy the carbon one from RKSport.
I wouldn't buy a carbon one for street use just because it is more likely for something to pop up hit it and shatter the thing. You won't see much of a gain between that and aluminum. so, unless you wanted to make this a drag only car I say steer away.
I don't have any experience with buying driveshafts from ebay, but if you are worried when you get it just take it to a drive shaft shop and have them check it and balance it. If you put it on and it isn't balanced you will know right away.
Same here. I got one from a 2002 SS that had only 12 miles on it. The guy bought the car new and drove it from the dealership to his shop and decided to remove it for some reason.

I got mine from ebay. not an ebay store but a private auction. the driveshaft was perfect. no problems.
The deal with the LS1 cars is that the engine is so powerful to begin with that it is already at the threshold of what the aluminum driveshaft can handle. When you start modding an LS1 engine or drivetrain...especially if it is an M6 tranny car then the aluminum DS becomes a weak link. it is plenty strong for most of us V6 guys though. It is probably stronger than the M5 tranny as well. (my assumption) An auto trans is much more forgiving on the rest of the drive train...DS and Differential.
The LS1 street modders swap out for steel Drive shafts to handle the near 400 hp of a bolt on car, etc.
It is a real easy swap unless you have a two piece DS from the factory. Then i think it is a little more complicated.
Suggest doing a test install and test drive of the drive shaft if a shop is going to charge you to inspect the DS for proper ballance. You will most likely know if the DS is out of ballance when you put some RPMs on it.
It should have some sort of ballancing weights glued or welded to it as well. (factory)
consider new U joints, etc... as well.
