    Question... for a 1997 3.8

What would be best to get?
    A. TransGo Shift Kit
    B. B&M Shift Plus Electronic Shift Improver

How is Milage affect by both?
Install on TransGo? Where and how long (est).
    Price on B&M Shift?
Will it hurt the Transmission with time?
Long term negative effects if any?

    thanxzz

why not get the B&M shift kit...the non electric one? Seems like everyone always forgets it. I dont think mileage is effected by any of them. Pretty much firms up your shift points..atleast the 1 i have does. I think it cost $25 from summit and very easy install. if you can do it yourself, maybe 45 min to an hour??

I got a shift kit installed when I got my tranny rebuilt at Mr Transmission, can feel a slight difference but not worth the money at all. The one I got was some generic model that they have.

            Mileage is unaffected
There are two types of shift kits, electronic - not worth it, and mechanical - you probably can't install yourself, the differance is 20 and 100 bucks.
It will not hurt the transmission, in fact it will make the transmission last longer. Harder shifts are faster shifts. The faster you shift the less time the clutches and bands are engaged the less heat you build up.
And no long term affects, other than your girlfriends usually hate it. But you have a 3.8L It get much more violent when torque is increased.

Why would the electronic one not be worth it? I've read much criticism about the electronic one (here on this very informative webboard/website),causing a tranny to go bad, but no one can really back it up that i have read, just criticism ??
              BM claims

Again, What leads you guys to believe it will cause more friction, leadin to a bad tranny and causing computer problems as i have read? When they claim otherwise? I am very familiar with Business and such, but not very familiar with trannys.
              Help...!?!
