  • 4L60E clunk while in 1st gear

Hey guys, hope you can give me some advice...

Today it just started happeneing that if I apply a good ammount of pedal pressure to the gas while in 1st and I can hear and feel the transmission clunk and move a little.
With a lower even pressure, no clunk.

    What could this issue be?

After talking with some friends in town, I'm thinking it's a motor mount more than the tranny mount. It dosen't do in in any other gear, and it's not during shifting or putting it in gear.

Hopefully it's not the tranny mount, I just replaced it about 1 1/2 years ago.

well, got the mount replaced, turns out that now it is still slunking. I guess it's time for a tranny mount now...

Wouldn't it be obvious just by looking at it that the tranny mount was shot? I mean you would think you would notice that while changing the motor mount.

it depends on how bad off it is. if its just starting to make the clunking noise it wont look that bad, but over time it will get worse.
