how do i know if its a 28 spline or a 30 spline??

anyways i just bought this 3 series carrier off ebay with 3.73 gears. I have a series 2 right now with 3.08's....how much of a noticable difference am i gonna see with the gear change and posi differential??

thanks alot! i cant wait to get it and have it installed to see the difference. Next i will be installing my nitrous kit ontop of that then getting headers.

make sure they know what they are doing, call around ask questions, say you dont want noisy gears, ask them about backlash, if they dont know what back lash is don't go to them..Originally posted by Kidcamaro98:

Are you sure you have a series 2? That doesn't sound right - they have 26 spline axles and pretty much disappeared in about 1987.
A great upgrade - you have an Eaton Locker there which is the best bet for 1/4 miling.
Phone around to different shops and get quotes - they will be all over the map.
