Guys, maybe Im a retard, or the search engine on this board takes some kind of wand, but I tried searching for the answer, so hopefully someone can help me.
Can anyone give me an idea what the stock T5 will handle in hp/tq before chunking, and is there any aftermarket T5's that are worth the cash taht will bolt to the 3800.
Sorry for asking the question that im sure a lot of newbs ask, I just cant find the answer.
anyone know if 350 rwtq is a realistic possibilty?
Im kicking around replacing the rotary in my 89 RX7 with a 3800 + T and want to stick with an 5 speed. Need to get an idea of how much that T5 can take. If im going to be constantly replacing trannies i'd rather just go the LS1 route. The RX7 vert weighs about 2850-2900lbs, so it will take a little more tq to destory the tranny than with an f-body, but not much,
300 ft lbs is the official rating from the manufacturer
