I don't know where else to ask this, so if this isn't an acceptable place tell me and I'll either delete it or it can be locked, no hard feelings.
I'm getting a 69 Camaro, its completely ready except for an engine and transmission. Getting those two things won't be a problem because I have cash for both.
I'm going to buy a Crate 350 and put that in engine-wise. Now- what should I do about the tranny? What is the differance between the 350 and 400 Turbo Transmissions? I'm kind of thinking the 400 is a manual 4-speed and the 350 is an auto? Is that right? I have no clue, can you guys tell me? I can drive a manual, and as of now I'm undecided if i want auto or manual, so any and all info will be appreciated! Thanks in advanced! -kirk

They are both auto's, the turbo 400 has 3 gears I believe, nto sure if you can get a OD gear put in......... TH400 is usually stronger....

They are both automatic 3 speeds with 3rd gear being 1:1. TH400 is more heavy-duty.
