  • Rear Swap HELP

I know a guy who will sell me a rear end off of his 2000 TA with 3:42 gears. They have about 16k on them and came out of a manual, and does not have TCS or 2nd gear start.
Now my question is...Can I put this rear end on my 98 firebird?? I have a automatic with 3:08's, and I have 2nd gear start. What will I have to do to hook up the 2nd gear start? and will his manual bolt straight up to my automatic? If there is anything else I need to know please let me know. Thanks guys!!

Everything will bolt right up, doesn't matter if its an auto or manual. I don't know anything about a 2nd gear start, but I DO know you will feel a big difference when you step on the gas pedal with the 3:42 gears the first time, and the second, third, etc. I thought about going to 3:42's, but I opted to keep it stock with the 3:23's.
If believe the second gear start thing you're talking about has to do with your auto transmission, not the rear. So everything should work just fine for you.
