have any you guys done the transmission fluid cleaning you can get at jiffy lube... is it worth it

If you have a lot of miles and haven't changed it regularly, it's not a good idea, your seals are going to start leaking. Jiffy lube might even refuse to do it if it has a lot of miles (like over 100k) because it will do damage to your tranny. Just top it off with some new fluid.

same as above... but coming from a tranny shop i trust... they didnt even want to vacumm flush my car and it only has 18,000 miles on it. quote, "nah...leave some of the old stuff in there...just drain the pan and fill it back up."
i was thinking of flushing it at 20,000 miles. that is how the topic came up.
now i will just drain it at about 25,000 when I do a shift kit.

I've done only pan drops and filter changes myself. I had it done on an 88 regal with 90,000 miles that I had years ago and it started leaking like I've never seen anything leak before. You look under the car and it just looked like I opened up a quart of tranny fluid and just poured it on the ground and then parked the car on top of it. The transmission was perfect before I had that done, it didn't leak at all and worked perfectly. I traded in a couple weeks later

This is the first that I've ever heard about flushing leading to leaks. I'm really skeptical about this.
I not discounting the fact that the oil leaks developed, but in relation to fluid flushes seems just coincedentlal.
I've done a number of complete transmission fluid replacements on my own cars over the years and have never had any such problems. Mind you on a most of them, I removed the tranny to do so and at the same time replaced the pump cover and input seals, and the tailshaft seal.
This spring I have to do the Sonnex TCC thing (hard 1-2 shift when hot, no codes) and I plan to remove the tranny and torque converter. I'm doing this so that I can completely drain the Torque converter of old fluid and also to replace the seals. (I'm also going to do the engine rear main seal as well).
I guess this is not the same as the flush you would get at a shop, because they don't remove the tranny, and don't change seals.
