I was under the car tonight and i noticed the was transmission fluid on the exhuast bracket and a little bit on any brackets that connected to it. I know it was coming from the tailshaft(i think its called the tailshaft, the back of the tranny where it connects to the driveshaft) There wasnt much but enough that i figured id ask. I didnt get to check the to see how much was in there(no dip stick on the manual). This weekend ill check it out. I know that the v6's with the one piece driveshaft(2000+ i think) have been know to leak becuase of vibration but only at high speed(basicly into the governor). Is this normal or a common problem? any ideas?

No thats way to far up and it would be leaking oil not transmission fluid.2002 35th Anniv. My 2000 did this a little also. When I had the clutch done I had both the oil seals replaced on the transmission. That cured it.\'00 f-bird 3.8 M5 coupe, pewter metallic
Torsen LSD, Pro 5.0 shifter, Spec stage 1 clutch, Y87 muffler, aftermarket stereo
-more fun than the Oldsmobile it replaced...

that seal cost 3 bucks and takes about 30 minutes it change you need to take out the DS and get the old one out with a screwdriver then use block of wood to get hte new one in and reinstall the DSwww.turbov6camaro.com

yup, you need a new seal put into the tranny. Not hard to do at all. I had to do mine last fall.
