alright i was driving down the highway at about 55-60 mph and let off the gas and i heard metal clanking simaltaneously from the rear of the car for about 2-3 seconds. It also clanks or pings i guess when i shift sometime to any gear...every now and then it does it more than once after i shift. I was told this could be my u-joint. is this true or does anyone else have any idea...would be much appreciated.thanks

It could be like a heat shield from your cat. or something else rattling from the exhaust. I had a clanking noise coming from my saturn winter beater and it was the exhaust hanger that broke and it would only make the noise when I would take off or let off the gas sometimes.
Check that stuff first to make sure everything is secure under there. -
thanks...i just had my exhaust done so i will look and make sure everything is how it should be...but i dont have any heat shields but someone else had told me it could be some suspension parts...thanks again for your input.Comment
