Tranny Differences?

Are all the 4L60E's for the 3.8 v6's the same? Or are there differences throughout the years? I have a 2001, will any 95-2002 3.8 camaro 4l60e work?

There are minute differences throughout the Fbody year-range, mostly dealing with computer controlled stuff. Try to get a tranny close to your own year model if you need a new one.

comparo between the 95 4L60E & the 98 4L60E:

95 has the dust sheild that angles like traditional rwd dustsheild, 98 is flat, ~ liek sheet metal, going across teh lower 1/3 of bell housing.

95 bellhousing/tranny is cast as one piece, 98 tranny has removable bell housing.

95 has VSS on drivers side, 98 has it on pass side.

95 tranny mount in same position as third gens & 3.4 cars, 98 is about 2" or so more rearward.

95 torque arm bracket are like the third gens & 3.4 cars, 98 has different spacing.

I cann't verify if the 98 was the first yr for all these differences, but there ya go.
