Well, I have my Eaton posi unit and reluctor ring sitting here waiting to be installed so I decided to save some time by putting the reluctor ring on. However I accomplished this a slightly different way, and it is SUPER easy to do.
I put the reluctor ring in the oven heated to 350 degrees. I let the ring sit in the oven for half an hour. This will generate some smoke (reluctor ring is coated in oil). After 30 minutes, take the ring out and it will drop right over the differential. There is a spot where the reluctor ring sits a bit higher than the ring gear mounting surface, but we're talking 1/32 of an inch if that which will be taken care of when I install the ring gear. Anyone wanting to use this method will find it a lot less painful and it doesn't require any special tools. When the ring cools down it snugs itself up.
