getting the 98+ 3.42 rearend with torque sensing, I have a 96 with open diff. Just wondering how the torque sensing will work on mine, or if the "low trac" light on the dash means I have a similar thing.

not sure what torque sensing is...

    BUT

min difference on rearends is 3 channel and 4 channel.

3 channel is every v6. And not traction control v8s. The ABS sensor is located on the top of the differential housing. Its called 3 channel because one for the entire rear, and one for each fornt wheel.

4 channel is on TCS v8s. The abs sensor is located at the end of each axle on the rear, so there are 2 sensors for the rear axle, leavinf 4 total for the car hence the name 4 channel.

As far as I know "low trac" light is related to abs sensor.

Easiset way to do it is jsut get a 3 channel rear end.

white, I'm looking to do the same thing this spring possibly thru the same company. Let me know how the rear is that you get from them. I have ordered small parts from them in the past, however was always hesitant on big items (partly due to shipping).

I got the rear end in, came on a pallet to a local advance auto parts store. Was in great shape and they even gave me free e-brake cables. I would definitely recommend ordering from them.

Thanks for the info...will order mine in the next week or two. BTW, how were the rotors? I'm planning on just replacing them...but was curious.

rotors could be used if they were turned, but I got a set of crossdrilled, slotted rotors off of ebay from "r1concepts" for 150 all the way around
