I have a 2002 camaro and as of lately I noticed oil/grease,around the part were the axle and diff, are connected. also the cover and the two load bolts on the T/A cover seemed to be either leaking or was. I havent check to see how much is lost or if any at all but whats up with that, I don't have any puddles underneith the car and the car seems to be oprerating normaly. Am I just tripn or should I be concered and find some damm way to get that stupid plug out to check fluid level. thanks peoples. gman211203
It's always a good idea to check any fluid on our cars. If the plug has a minor leak, just screw it back on with some teflon tape on the threads.
As for the pinion leak: Welcome to the F-Body world. They leak like crazy, even a new pinion seal will start to leak after a month or so. If the leak is bad, then have it replaced asap! But if it's a drop or two every once in awhile, no need to worry.
If there are any signs of the rear diff cover leaking, then go get a new gasket and replace it. That's an easy job!
