    will any trannies mount up to the 3.8L engine?

    (5spd.)

    I would like a stronger one, because i heard the t5's suck, and i dont want to bust anything.

    You can make just about anything fit with enough work and money. About the only direct swap would be to get a beefed up T5, though. Anything other than that will take some work (T56, etc).

    Why do you even think you need a new one, though? T5s can be plenty tough. Even the stock one will probably be more than you'll ever need.

    Unless you're making 300rwhp or drive like Eric, I wouldn't worry about it.

        powershifting, full throttle runs, and more and more powershifting, and shifting really fast.

        im really afaraid im going to bust something as i heard the trannies are really weak

        edit* also, i wanted a complete bolt on, where i take the old tranny out, and plop the new one in.

          About the only thing you ca do is have a plate made to merry up the new tranny with the engine.

          You can do a G-force build and I seriously doubt you'll break it, unless you are pushing more than 600HP.

          I had mine built by http://www.t56rebuilds.com/. I am picking it up tomorrow.. I'll post up results.....

            Buy a shifter with stop bolts on it, and keep driving it until it breaks. I like my pro5.0 shifter a lot. Change the fluid pretty often.

            I mean, the cost of a built up tranny is the same if not more than getting a new one or a rebuild. Unless you have money to burn right now, just drive this one until it goes poof and save up your pennies for the newer, stronger one.

              eh i had a shop mechanic tell me i have a mazda transmission on my car, and mine is a 5 speed.. dont know if its true or not.. Does anyone know if thats possible?

                Unless you have a ford thunderbird SC i'm sure you don't have a mazda trans.
