  • Want new rear end-anywhere besides thunder racing?

I want to get a 3.73 rear end for my car, but the only site I know of-Thunder Racing, charges almost $500.00. Anyone know of somewhere else I can get one cheaper?

To come: FTRA, whisper lid, and maybe someday (sigh, I hate stock gears) 3.73s.

You can try anyone of the sponsors.

As for 500 bucks at Thunder. You must be refering to the package deal. This includes most things you'll need to do a gear swap. Either you do it or someone else doing it. You'll still need those parts.

Speed auto sells the entire rear end. Meaning from left side brake to right side brake. I believe Camarorulz is looking for only the ring and pinion.

You can usually get just the ring and pinion for less than $200, but you will need the other things included in the Thunder Racing (or SLP) package when you go to install them (pinion shims, crush sleeve, gasket, differential fluid, etc).

Would be easier to get a rear end from a Z with 3:73's in it. You can pick them up from $200 to $300 and it's basically a bolt on.

Tough to find one with 3.73s in it. And even if you did, you'd know that rear has seen some action, as the only reason 3.73s would be in there is for racing.

oh yea the E brake cables dont match either, so you have to get one of those out of the Z in question
