When do you shift?

First of all, do you watch your RPMs or speed when you shift, or are you just so used to it you don't need to look. I just got my car on the road, and I usually shift between 2500 and 3000 RPMs. Is this a good place to shift at? Should I wait a little longer, or shift sooner?

i shift around 2000 - 2500 when i drive. But i dont really look anymore. I try to keep the rpms low for gas purposes.

I tend to shift between 2500-4000 rpms under normal driving. If I shift before 2500 the car feels like it's struggling a bit (bogging) But if you are driving pretty slow with your foot barely on the gas then shifting at 2k+ seems ok.

My light's set for 5600 and I usually get out of it by 5900.
