What gears do you have now? If you've got 3.23s, the install will be easy. If you've got 3.08s and you're upgrading gears, the install will be a little harder.

        I'm pretty sure I have 3.23s because I have '01 3.8 manual camaro.

as long as the carrier came with bearings and races, you should be set.

you will need a complete install kit with new bearings and seals because apparently whoever took out the "take outs" was not very gentle. the bearings on mine were beyond usage.

btw, congrats on it man say goodbye to pegleg burnouts

All you need is LSD,and maybe bearings for it if LSD didnt come with. reluctor ring you can hammered out of your old diff. You can reuse your old gasket with cool blue , or just cool blue works greate(dont forget to clean the surface)
And important thing is that bolts on diff have LEFT tread.

                        Thats a good install...

My takeoff lsd came with good bearings, course mine was bought off a site as a slp takeoff not a used one or something on ebay...

Just to warn oyu with doing gears there is alot more precise work to be done, and you may want a shop to do it. with setting the backlash and such.

NOw if you insall the LSD, I'd put it at a 5 or 6 on the scale of work, not so much the difficulty in skill but being careful with it.

I did it in a parking lot in like 30* weather(was 55ish when I started, and noticed it got really cold, came inside for a break and noticed a major cold front was coming through that night and it dropped to 30s  )

Just be extremely careful of the bolt in the pinion shaft. Matt, broke his, and had a small nightmare, and I rounded mine off, I managed to hammer a smaller socket on and it came off, but I was worried I was breaking mine off too. If you break it off you cannot drill it out(not a good angle)

Its kinda freaky, and I have no clue in the world what people meant by pry it out with a 2x4... I tried and tried and couldn't get any leverage, to pop it out, I just chewed up the tip of the 2x4.

I suggest use a big prybar, or if you are lacking one like I used a big breaker bar. used a wooden block to keep it from gouging the diff housing.
