GEARS?

how do i know what my gear ratio is? and if i have LSD or not? and what gears are best if i wanted to up grade? and if i don't have LSD, do i need it? i have a manual so i don't need a stall converter, right?

find your rpo codes on the inside of the drivers side door. it's a list of alphanumeric codes that you can then look up elsewhere on this site and find out all the options your car came with, including gears and such

I recommend 3.73's to everyone with a 5-speed, i love mine! on the highway its at about 2700RPM's which isnt too bad, gas mileage goes down about 2 and i picked up about .4-.5 with the installation of the SLP zexel-torsen and 3.73s over my 3.23's and open rear end...the only bad part is the speed limiter is at 99mph now, first gear isnt too short, and it pulls better in every gear, i that covers most people concerns with the 3.73's, and i do about half city and half highway driving w/these gears and still get 20-22 mpg depending on how much i punch it...i highly recommend the LSD too, its cures most of your traction problems...

your speed limiter went from 110 to 99? why is that? isn't the speed limiter at 110mph? why does it go down? i don't understand!

it went from 118 to 99, the different gearing makes the computer think your going faster than you really are, so it moves it down...i also bought a SLP processor to recalibrate my speedo...
