No, overdrive and lockup are two completely different things.
Overdrive is a gear in the transmission that is less than a 1:1 ratio.
When a converter locks up, it is creating a direct link between the engine and transmission instead of a fluid link. This means that there is less power loss through the driveline.
Spend the extra money on the lockup.....

Over drive is not a gear in the transmission. We do not have 5 speed transimissions.
