Just wanted to share a problem and solution with the board. Today I came to a red light and when it was green, i tried to accelerate and it was VERY slow, then it hit second and took off like normal, after this happened a few more times i pulled over and checked the oil, temp, water, tire pressure, etc... and all of them were ok, so i took it to a near by shop and after a test drive they told me that the solinoid controlling the transmission fluid to my first gear was either broken or shorted.... so they changed that out and it works great...cost about $130 for parts and labor... hope this helps someone in the future...

all the shift solenoids as well as the pressure control solenoid can be tested and changed with the trans still in the vehicle. all are accessible from the tx valve body.
