  • shift kit?

I did do a search but i'm still confused on these matters.
I was looking at this shift kit and have a few questions
    http://www.kdsperformance.com/tranhigpersh2.html

1 So this would let me shift from 1-2-d-od at any rpm and even down shift while driving?
2 How much would it roughly cost to install?
3 Is it safe for my transmission i heard it can accualy be bad? I have heard both sides but what is the actual call bad or good?
4 Would i still be able to just put it in drive and have it work as a normal automatic?
    5. what is the diffence between that and http://www.kdsperformance.com/tranhigpersh1.html?
    6. Is it worth the money

    Thanks Scott

The first one you mentioned has full manual shifts...which means you can't put it in drive and drive like normal. The 2nd one is what everyone puts in and is what you want. It safe for the transmission and not many have had problems with it. I installed it myself and it wasn't that bad. It does let you shift to any gear at any RPM. Most shops want $100-$250 to install it.

Call me crazy but I just had the shift kit installed in my car last weekend and I can feel a big improvement in acceleration. BIG. It pulls very strong. I am very happy with it.

I paid $225 including new filter and synthetic oil.

So with cheaper( http://www.kdsperformance.com/tranhigpersh1.html?) one i could still do manual shifting and it won't harm the transmition and when i choose to i could put it drive and take off. I think that's what i'm going to go for Thanks
hehe another thing gets added to the to do list

I put mine is along with fully synthetic oil and it didnt make ANY difference in my 1/4 mile, but it did change my shift points. I dotn think it makes it go any faster at all or pull harder but it is still awesome to have! Feels so much cooler driving around.

now wahts that stuff bout torque managemnt? do all you guys that have this shift kit have cars older than 98' so you dont have to worry about it.. or is that just something they tell you so that you spend $400 for that handheld device, and is there any other way of doing same thing as that device does?
