Anyone else have a problem with this? The pinion seal on the rear differential leakes oil. It's been taken back to GM but they didn't really fix it. Anyone else have this problem?

Yes, approximately 90% of us have that problem. It's a GM fault that has plagued us f-body owners for decades. I had my pinion seals replaced on my 86 T/A once, and it started leaking about one month afterwards.
If it's more than a few drops here-n-there, then I'd get it checked out. If you see a drop or two during or within a week, ignore it. Just make sure you keep an eye on the gear oil level once every 6 months or so...sigpic

all I have is gunk on the bottom of my car near the rear....no drips. Is it worth it to replace the seal?Joel
God is my copilot, but Satan has his foot on the gas!
94 3.4L AutoCamaroRagtop w/MSD ignition,Accelcoilpacks,K&N FIPK,BMR SFC&STB,3\"Catco w/3\"catbackSS muffler,JetStage 2,HomemadePIAAheadlightconversion http://www.geocities.com/cardiac1968

unless its a severe leak its not worth having someone else fix it. i was quoted $300 by a local shop. if it was closer to $120 i would consider getting it fixed since the smell of burning gear oil on my i-pipe isnt pleasant.
i replaced it myself (and if i leaks again i will likely replace it again). i didnt buy a seal from gm but went with a seal from carquest. i have my suspicions about the spring in the seal used by gm.
