• Thinking about new transmassions (T5/manual peeps)

So.. eventualy.. I have accpeted the fact that the good ol' t5 is gunna take a dump..

I have been looking at the options available.. and there are quite a few..

you got your standard t-5
the 3-4 word class models
other various rebuils
and then the tremec tko's and 3550

all of which can be had for under 2k new..

i am leaning twards a tkoII, simply because it will hold more power then i ever plan to make.. and it only a little more then the others..

heres where it get technical..

who knows if it will bolt up?? what about the input shaft?? what about output?? how does all of that work??

Whoa! Now you're getting into the physics of the trans. You would be better off asking the seller. Only way I'd know is to have everything torn apart and try to install the tkoIII by hand, and see what does and doesn't jam.

yeah i looked at gforce as well.. their numbers are impressive..

But I would rather have a whole new tranny.. and gforce wants like 1600 to rebuild your stocker..

a new tkoII is like 2K.. and it has a better casing and all.. so.. i dunno.. either one will be more then enough for my needs.. i jsut want something solid..

anyone have any clue if they will jsut bolt up??

Billy, just go until it breaks. Tiago hasn't broken yet, neither have I. Go spend your time worrying about more important things, like bending me some IC piping, and dreaming about my x-pad stage iii. :-p

the kit is almost done BTW..

I beive corey knew of a palce that would do mandrel bending.. thats in MD somewhere.. i dident really look into it..

that or just buy pre done bends, and get a chop saw and a welder and go to TOWN..

I am really regretting not getting hte stage 3 or possibly 4 BTW.. the 2 is "ok" but i think it will need to be retired before its time.. I am not sure how well/long its gunna hold with what i have planned..

give me 2-3 more weeks and I will come whoop your butt rob-bo' I am pretty close to beaing finished..
