So what do you guys think of this deal....

What do you guys think on this deal... Remember its hard to find shops that will put in performance parts and put in a customer's part. And its also even harder to find a shop that is willing to do above but not on a v8, a v6.

-Spec Stage II $360(from shop average price online is $370-380 +shipping $25? so I am looking around $400 to buy it online)
-$500 labor, but the labor is the install of clutch resurfacing of flywheel, and an install of a slp takeoff unit.

Sounds pretty good to me, but just curious what others think.

so install of lsd and clutch = good deal
install of clutch and lsd and gears = don't pass it up if there a good shop

I actually installed the clutch and had the flywheel resurfaced for 50 dollars (for replacement fluid, turning the flywheel, ect..). If you have some friends who are familiar with changing a clutch it helps. But I bought a haneys (I forget how to spell it) manual and went to town. Tore it apart on a Friday night had the fly wheel turned the next morning and put it back together and was on the road by 1PM Saturday. Again having at least an extra set of hands helps a lot. It's not to difficult to do. Save your money and do it your self..

I HATE doing major drivetrain work, if I had a garage or even a driveway sure. But no I have apartment complex parking lot in the ghetto. I hate leaving my car on stands even for 5 minutes. Besides last time I did plugs, wires, and a valve cover gasket on a friends 4 banger they *****ed me out. I was only out their for like 35 minutes

Next, rear end freaks me out mroe the the clutch, I don't like opening the pumpkin and playing in there.


Only time I have taken one of my cars into a shop in the last 5 years. Was to have my ignition lock cylinder fixed and rekeyed by dealer, welding of exhaust, and tranny rebuilds.

I completely understand. Its really hard to 'mod' your car without a garage or even a driveway. I have to go to an abandoned parking lot just to jack it up and rotate the tires. The only place that I have found here that will put on my parts (read: weld my exhaust) AND that I trust with my car charges 70$/hr for labor. I'd say what they quoted is a good deal.
