I actually have a manual ( ) but I've driven quite a few automatics. The way I see it, I don't downshift in my manual for fun, I only do it if I'm racing, or if I'm in dire need of really speeding up. It's like peeling out, it's fun but it wears down your tires. It's really just a personal decision about how much risk you wanna take. If you really want a better performing transmission just get a shift kit.

Still working on custom ram air...

blue94 I was going to get a shift kit but that would void my warranty on the tranny. I'm sure glad I didn't put a shift kit on YET. Maybe I'll install one once the extended warranty ends.

oh I brought it to the dealer and they said they'd hook it up to the computer and drive it around for a bit. I may not have to pay the deductible because I did bring the car in for a transmission problem before (slow shifting...which I feel put excessive wear on the tq converter). They said if this is the case, then I won't pay the deductible. Damn GM better get this one right this time.
