Heres the deal, (my car has about 260,000miles). Clutch disc spring broke, etc.
Changed that... car almost ready.
Decided to change the rear diff fluid.
Went all good, then a noticed some numers on the ring gear.
It looked like this: '3.42 XXXXXXXX' where the x's would be an 8 digit part number. The gears looked to be in mint condition (but they whine a bit.. - not installed right I guess) and thats unusual for a vehicle with 400,000km. I guess they were changed out. My car is a non-Y87, and doesnt have LDS.
Does that mean I got 3.42's for sure?
I see no other reason as to why 3.42 would be stamped into the side of the gear, lol.
Also, how the hell are you suposed to refill the trans fluid on a M5? Its imposble to get a bottle up their, let alone a funel. Do I need to buy a hand pump or something stupid like that?
