The question is, will a 4th gen v6 differential fit in a third gen:

I bought a 1984 Camaro Z28 H.O yesterday (and i thought it ran great) Soo this is what happened. I was at a light, tried to put my car into first then i heard a loud popping sound. Now no matter what gear the car is in, it wont move (acts like its in nuetral) I put the car in 1st, looked underneath the car and the driveshaft is spinning. My girlfriends dad said my differential is blown. How much does this cost to fix/replace, and how much more to put in LSD. I have a 1984 Z28 H.O. I also have a (non functional) 1995 Camaro V6. (anyone want any 4th gen parts?) Can i swap the differentials, or would that not work?

when I was looking for some 3.42's and a Zexel LSD I read a few places that the rear end will fit all 82-02 F-bodies. So yea, I imagine it would.

may just have snapped the spider gears.. in that case if you are good you might just be able to find a junk car pull the spider gears and keep on goin.. known people that have done that ..
