i have the auto transmission in my '98 bird and was wondering how hard it would be to get a manual put in. I've always wanted one and I don't want to get another car. and if so, where's a good place to get one? thanks
Wow man do I have just the information for you =). Ive got a 98 camaro that had the automatic transimission in it. After doing some searching I found a onwer that had a manual 5 and was willing to sell, I also needed the engine wireing harness, So all this weekend Thats all Ive been doing, Ive got the trani up and in, now all thats left is just doing the slave on the clutch. The wireing harness on that engine was tricky but not too diffucult. With two people working weve put in...5 to 9 hrs mabye on it? Monday we should have it finished its the big day =D. Even though the guy sold us the trani, pedals clutch and full wireing harness for the whole car for about 500$ we still dont know if were going to have to replace the interior one. Hopefully not, ah we also picked up a manual console for about 50$ not bad. Hope that helps you a little, for any information or help, email me at seth_jagger@hotmail.com Id be willing to help, seth

well.. i have the same question but i want to buy my parts new. is there a company that sells manual transmission for a 2001 camaro. because automatic lags big time every time i race.
